Designer TODD
SNYDER and iconic brand CHAMPION collaborated to launch a men’s sportswear line for Fall 2013. The debut collection, entitled “City Gym”, is inspired by archival Champion pieces and vintage photos from the New York Athletic Club. Together they scoured Champion’s vast archive of sales catalogs and vintage samples to find styles and fabrics that would seamlessly meld with Snyder’s love of classic American tailoring. “Champion has always symbolized quality and American style,” Snyder says. “I love the idea of mixing tailoring with their 1950’s gym issued items.”

The collection features a neutral heathered palette of grays, oatmeals, and stone colors accented by rich team colors – crimson, vintage green and washed royal. The line will include vintage thermal long-sleeve crew and sweats that have an authentic feel and would impress any avid collector of Champion. All styles carry an authentic 1950’s Champion label with “T.SNYDER” stenciled in the back of each garment – reminiscent of the Champion gym uniforms worn by Todd Snyder in his school years.

ALEX MILL is built around the idea of a man’s perfect uniform, a well-crafted assortment of classic essentials every guy has in his closet: the Woven Shirt, the Classic Fit Jean, the T-shirt. Every fabric, fit, stitch and detail is considered to ensure each piece is made to last and has plenty of character that only improves with wear. Effortless is definitely Alex Mill's style, so all shirts made are to Wash-and-Go, with consideration to tailored yet casual fits.  The fall lineup encompasses casual shirts in plaid, striped, and solid chambray fabrics. Striped crewnecks, sweatshirts and accessories round out the offerings.

Odin New York has released a series of four limited-run skateboard decks for the summer.  Usually identified as having a dark and masculine sensibility, the decks represent a more colorful and playful side of Odin, coinciding with the warmth and fun of the summer season. Each deck is 7-ply Maple wood, hand shaped in California. The top deck is in natural grain with Odin’s raven logo. The bottom designs play with varying bright colors, patterns and opacities.

Each board measures 8” x 31”.
The skateboards retail for $65 and are available at all Odin locations as well as online.

We shot some of our Spring/Summer designers into two sections.  The first grouping was in Upstate New York in a remote and rural area called Warnersville.  The second grouping

We were big fans of this season's prints from Engineered Garments.  We selected two of our favorite floral prints and had them cut in
Engineered Garment's classic popover silhouette.  Check in again for more drops of the Spring/Summer collection.

GHOSTLY AT ODIN will showcase a carefully co-curated distillation of the products normally offered through Ghostly’s online boutique, along with several new introductions and exclusives. Featured in the space will be a selection of limited edition art and prints culled from Ghostly International Editions, the company’s “label” of artwork and artists.  Examples:  Shore by Charles Bergquist (edition of 20 / $260).  Activities of the Inanimate by Andy Gilmore (edition of 20 / $120).  Biolumin v.2 by Michael Cina (edition of 30 / $120 unframed),

In addition, Ghostly will be presenting a co-branded limited edition capsule collection of its graphic tees from artists Michael Cina, Matthew Shlian, and Sougwen Chung ($35 retail).

Introduced at the installation will be the ‘DJ Record Shelves’, a new collaboration with emerging Brooklyn designers Chen Chen and Kai Williams. Handmade in Brooklyn, the simple record shelves are to be the first in an evolving, experimental suite of furniture objects for the design-minded audiophile ($160 retail). Naturally, in conjunction with the record shelves, a selection of Ghostly’s music releases on vinyl will be available for listening and purchase.

The installation will be rounded out with a small selection of designer goods (Sectional Globes by Drill Design, $24-$42 retail) and audio products, including the now iconic TMA-1 DJ headphones from Danish headphone company AIAIAI ($200 retail).  The presentation of AIAIAI’s TMAs marks nearly two years of partnership between the two companies and also kicks off a new partnership between AIAIAI and Odin, who will be carrying their entire range of design driven headphones.

Additional merchandise, art, and prints will be added through the duration of the installation.
